How EVE Online buybacks work

How do I sell items to a buyback in EVE Online?

Choose a buyback operator, paste the items you copied from your in-game inventory and press Appraise. You get a quote straight away. Then create an Item Exchange contract to the operator with the price and description shown.

How do I create an Item Exchange contract?

In game, open Contracts and choose Create Contract. Pick Item Exchange, set Availability to Private and enter the operator’s name, select the items, set "I will receive" to the quoted amount and paste the description from your quote.

How are prices calculated?

Each item is priced from the Jita market (buy, sell or split, depending on the operator) and multiplied by the operator’s rate for that item or category. Operators set their own rates.

How are ores valued?

Ores are valued at their maximum refined mineral value (90.62% refining yield) rather than the raw ore price.

How long until my contract is accepted?

That depends on the operator. Pasting the quote description into the contract notifies the operator, which usually speeds things up.

Can I run my own buyback?

Yes. Join our Discord server and read the info channel. Operators get their own buyback page, their own rates and contract notifications.
